The collection of
photographs of the Spanish Citrus Historical Museum showing the
different processes which the oranges go through before reaching
the consumers from the planting of the trees to packing, transport,
publicity and the selling or its by-products.
The images are a record of the history
of the Valencian citrus fruits culture: They include old
ways of cultivation, the trasport of the product by
horse-drawn carts and the old storehouses where the women
sat on the ground classifying the oranges, the effort of
men and bulls to alike to carry the boxes of oranges from
the port to the anchored vessels and the marketing
techniques full of typical traditionalism. At the same
time they show the present situation: the most advanced
methods of cultivation, the fully mechanized warehouses
together with the most modern ways of transport.
